*Boyzone were formed in Dublin, Ireland in November 1993. The first single they released was Working My Way Back To You-a cover of the disco classic. It was released in March 1994 in ireland, and it went in at number 3 in the Irish charts. The first single the boys released in Britain was Love Me For A Reason, in November 1994. It entered the charts at number 10 and climbed to number 2 at Christmas. *The boys appeared on Irish tv the day after they were formed as a group. *The group's name was decided through a competition. *Boyzone nearly didn't make the first few dates of their Something Else tour. Only a few days before kick off, Ronan had to beat a hasty path to his doctor, where he was told that he had an infection in his nose. Mikey was poorly too- he had a stress related illness and had to miss a week's rehersals. The 2 boys recovered and the rest is history. *In 1996, the boys were flying over the Australian desert when one of their plane engines failed. The pilot had to make an emergency landing in the middle of the desert. *In 1997, BZ teamed up with French boyband Alliage to record a bilingual version of the song Working My Way Back To You which is also found in their single "All That I Need". *BZ hit Hollywood when they sang the theme song of the 1997 hit movie, Bean. The song was called Picture Of You. * The boys' 1997 Something Else tour featured acrobatics, futuristic sets and loads of strange costumes!"We wanted to do something we'd never done before,"said Mikey. *The boyz' 1997 A Different Beat Tour covered Southeast Asia, the Middle East and India! The single A Different Beat was written by the boyz themselves! *The video for A Diff.Beat wasn't actually filmed in Africa but in a warehouse in Southeast London!The boys stood in front of a blue screen and the African scenes were later on slipped. * When BZ were on a tour in Southeast Asia, they played a huge gig in Kuala Lumpur.
